Public toilets
on Path of remembrance and comradeship in Ljubljana

The public toilet issue is very complex; it covers different areas (economy, environment, social life, health, etc.) at different levels. Lack of provision of public toilets is a problem for both, undeveloped and developed countries. The provision of public toilets is a critical component of an accessible and sustainable city, such as Ljubljana, where changing the concept of transportation and mobility (reducing the use of cars, encouraging people to use public transportation, cycle or walk) as well as encouraging people to spend time outdoors is essential, implying a high demand for public toilets.
I researched the issue and the provision of public toilets in Ljubljana, only the green areas, and used a systematic approach of providing them on the example of The Path of Remembrance and Comradeship. With the use of spatial data and analyses, I defined the number and locations of public toilets. I picked one of the locations, Fužine, analyzed it and created the project for public toilets.
